LOOKS LIKE I CHECKED THIS THREAD JUST IN TIME. #1800 GET!
I skimmed what you guys said about feeling uncomfortable with some parts of the fandom. For me, I feel that some of those people are just unused to a fandom so huge. This unfortunately makes them quite inexperienced on what the hay you shouldn't be doing. I didn't watch the video about the cloppers, but I feel again these people do not understand the unwritten rules of almost every fandom.
As for what bugs me, there isn't too much in terms of normal stuff in the Pony fandom. The stuff that makes me tick though are creepy fetishists and fursonas *BUY SOME APPLES*ing with characters from the show; these make me wanna strangle em through the monitor. Somehow unsurprisingly, most of the creepy fetishists are also furries. I never really was into the furry fandom beyond their artwork; beyond that, I find many of them really weird and totally drama prone. Since some of them decided to troll Bronies with hateful/creepy fetish/distasteful artwork, it makes me facepalm hard at furries.
For the Pony fandom, I really don't see the fandom in trouble anytime soon. There are so many good Brony musicians/artists, then we have people who decide to do community service type work in the name of Bronies, the game makers, and just the sheer creativity of the community. For me, I had been contributing to the fandom by uploading ALL the pony episodes onto Youtube accounts so people outside the US can watch them. Sadly them would get taken down within about a month. I have made a 4th Youtube account, and am uploading all of Seasons 1/2 as we speak; I am up to Baby Cakes. Am hoping to get all of them up by tomorrow. I've been told to unlist the videos, and make a decoy Pony video that would contain all the links to the episodes. As a gauge on how many people watch the episodes when they were public, I was averaging 80k-100k views in total before that channel got nuked.
I understand there is infighting, but then what healthy fandom is without infighting? Older fandoms have it worse, such as Doctor Who. I read there are fans really divided between the old/new series, those who love only one incarnation of the Doctor and hate the others, etc etc. The Simpsons I read have it really bad, where as early as the Simpsons leaving the Tracy Ullman show and becoming their own series there were already butthurt people who declared the Simpsons (yes as early as the series premiere) RUINED FOREVER.
