Which brings me to another point - I wonder what the motivation behind the server merge was. Beyond the population concerns, I find it easy to believe that it made more sense for them to do this in order to create less work for their GM staff (yes, they do exist). They cut more than 5 servers, so that's sure to have an impact. It's easier event-wise, tech-wise, and all the rest as well.
I feel they did go overboard with the merges, though - GAZED is a shitfest.
