Well, there's two different nerfs with Aswan, I suppose.
Initially, you could sit at the beginning with your party and just grind on the mobs as they came for some amazing exp, it is a party play area after all. The first Aswan nerf creates a fail condition so that if the monsters pass a certain point you would lose and get kicked out.
The second nerf is the end of the Aswan War, taking out the modes other than what is essentially Supply mode during the Aswan War event and limiting you to five runs a day, at 100 honor EXP per run, which makes it extremely difficult to level Honor. When people refer to the nerf, they probably mean this one. This is pretty much completely different from the Aswan War, so if we were getting the nerfed version, it'd be obvious from the video.
In the nerfed version, there's three maps with two long platforms at the top, with one small platform off to the side of the topmost platform, and two smaller platforms below the bottom of the two long ones that is basically one of the long ones with a gap. You just kill monsters and move to the next room, which is identical. In the Aswan War, at least in Occupy and Attack mode (they're basically the same, I think, but Occupy Mode is used to score points for your server during the Server Wars, I think), there's one or two lanes with monsters rushing toward you, and you pretty much stay in the same map, and when you get to the end, you're done.
The video on the website shows players participating in the different modes of the Aswan War, so I really doubt we're going to get the nerfed five run Supply mode version right away. At this point, I'm pretty confident in saying that there is literally no way we won't be getting full Aswan.
Hell, this is just me speculating now, but, they know we like party play areas, so I'd bet there's a chance they'd keep the Aswan War going, at least for a little while longer than in kMS. Then again, they also feel that we love PvP, and they removed it during the patch that corresponds to the removal in kMS.
I'm interested to see their live stream, mostly because there's a little part of me that thinks they'll say they won't be enforcing limited times for Aswan, just as we didn't have limited times for PvP like in kMS.
