Worthyness Wrote:Well sure I'll give you that, but why should JMS and KMS devs be the only ones who can work together efficiently? With how interconnected the globe is, I don't see any reason why Global devs and Korean devs could not push to get something on a similar scale to the JMS content. I mean JMS has put out many unique concepts like the Monster tamer profession and monster card summons (granted those were a redo of an old concept). This time, they not only have a MS original concept (many japanese games use the warring states story so not entirely original, but new to MS), they also have what appears to be actual new classes (as in they don't look to resemble or directly copy any existing class' attacks like Jett and Dragon Warrior accomplished so well). Why couldn't Korean devs and Global devs create something like that? GMS is Global and has many different countries tied into it- why not develop something that appeals to that "global" audience instead of a reskinned pirate job? They could have actually made Planet Cerebus for Jett; made original animations and attacks instead of "lol this already exists. Let's copy it and re-skin everything cause it's easy and appeases people". Yes, it probably would have taken a little while longer, but it would have been a far more interesting piece of content over a rushed re-skin job. Hell, it could have brought more excitement.
Sure Global devs and Korean devs can't exactly hope over a lake to get to a meeting, but that's why we have the internet- we have the capability to have real-time meetings face to face via skype; we can send messages instantly with pictures and content. They have no legitimate reason for not being able to communicate between dev teams. The only legitimate reason that I can see that we would not obtain content similar to this is if the Korean dev teams did not approve anything of this scale (which I don't see why they wouldn't for any good reason at all) or the Global dev team is completely mindless and lacks an significant amount of imagination. Maybe GMS is just not worth the time and effort. I want "exclusive" global content as much as any other GMS user, but getting something that's half ass-ed and lacks any sort of unique concept? I'd rather wait longer for something more thought out and clever. You remember how awesome Masteria was when they released it? I want that feeling again. When i saw Jett, all I thought of was "oh. it's a reskin of something that had already been developed. Nothing to see here folks. By the way, where's my Pirate revamp that we were all looking forward to?"
Honestly I completely agree with what you are saying myself.
My only thought is that it might have to do with money. JMS may not be as popular as it used to be, but it still net them a ton of cash, way more than GMS did if I remember that annual report correctly. Granted, they dug their own grave with allowing hackers to flourish so long, but it doesn't change the fact that at this point, they simply do not make enough money...and if you were a businessman, which would you greenlight? The Exclusive Content for a version that's still netting them plenty of cash, or one that appears to be dying compared to what they (probably) used to make off of? Why would they invest the time and energy when it doesn't seem like the reward would be worth in when speaking in terms of cold hard cash.
