Sounds like what you want to pay attention to is the small numbers under the DPS: xxx - xxx range. Those numbers mean damage per hit. The DPS is avg dmg per hit times attacks per second, essentially. If you use skills that dont require IAS (or where IAS doesnt really help), then you want the highest base damage possible.
