Saw this a couple days ago when the mother posted it on ponychan, really heartwarming story. It has been going around the ponynet for a while now. There are just so many displays of awesome around the ponynet, it really helps compensating for some of the bad things in the fandom.
This past weekend Celestia Radio hosted a 60h live DJing programme to raise funds for a kid with cancer (the same one Tara Strong was talking about some time ago).
