If he doesn't bend why would he have his hand like that?
P.S. I just know they'll leave us with one huge cliffhanger on the finale. :S
It will probably be a bigger cliffhanger than Season 2's of the Original Series. That sh't was crazy.

It really burns me that they have this wonderful world and amazing characters that they choose to do nothing with. 26 episodes is not enough.
Ratings do wonders. If they're high enough, I'm positive we'll see more, or possibly another sequel...but likely more Korra simply because of how much there is to explore.

Hama was only initially stronger than Katara because Katara did not want to Bloodbend at all. She was horrified at the thought and the concept. When she finally realized that it was the only way to save herself and her friends, she did it against her better judgement. Her massive crying at the end of the episode reflects this. It's likely that it is banned in Republic City solely because of her.
Even so, Hama was only able to Bloodbend two-three people at once. Yakome is shown Bloodbending over a hundred in that flashback. That's a dramatic jump in ability. Even though you have "special benders," I think that it's too much of an ability jump. It seemed far too much. The best Water Benders can't even manage that much water, and water doesn't offer resistance like blood does (because the person is trying to stop it). A hundred+ people being bloodbent at once? Seems like a little much. The "Special Benders" all shown before now have special abilities, not super abilities.
