GMS cubes expire but i don't really see the point in making items that are generally consumed immediately permanent. Everything else needs to be permanent though, you're right.

There are event cubes/other items. Anniversary cubes would be a good investment for the potential shoulderpads, and the 2nd tier rings we got. a lot of people have been getting amazing luck with them.
