Obviously, but considering there is an entire force of very organized police officers, I am sure that while that one or couple were chasing the criminal, they could send some people over later and fix it.

There's a murderer on the loose and you're going to stop for road repair. Really? Why not just avoid the entire problem and use the very well designed cables?

Also another problem with wood bending is that wood used for lumber has too little water left in it. I'm not exactly sure but most wood is dried so that it's at less than 10% humidity.
