1) Your potential is end game, and as long as the scrolling/enhancing is top notch, your weapon is perfect.
2) Basil is unfortunately the best source for new bosses and stuff, but there's also http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=42430 for in detail information about staple bosses that basil doesn't go into.
