Any of the ACE+ battle music from Xenoblade counts as the best goddamn boss music in the world, so I won't spam the thread with 20+ songs; One Who Gets in Our Way (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS7XVMNNZI8) and Those Who Bear Their Name (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4vCEHpv6Hg) are the best among those, and Mechanical Rhythm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCclUgQk1Lk) is the best metal nonboss music ever conceived.
Honorable mention to Drakengard 1-2 for the only successful usage of chaotic dissonance I can think of; each song merges a bunch of classical symphony orchestra numbers then...I guess the only world that would describe the rape they inflict on them as "corrupts", them. EX, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kbCgNYyyoU and especially http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysEtqVhCpNU (draken1), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvERGErO7us (draken2). Slightly different styles, both very good. That second one from draken1 makes those songs it's peach, particularly.
