Crusaders/Heroes had the concept of a combo system years before Aran was released. The only difference is that they don't lose their orbs until the (A)CA buff runs out. (or dispel fffff)

Also, like Satellite said, it's a very subjective experience. I have made 4 or 5 Arans and deleted them all because I just can't get into the groove. All Aran does for me is pomegranate up LHC.
