IDK if it's the best designed, but I can say it is a pretty "realistic" class, in that it has pros and cons which are greatly balanced. It has great elements like great animations, mobility, damage, unique gameplay, etc and is one of the very few classes that actually requires practice to master it, this without being freaking overpowered in every one of them like lolDemonSlayer or Lol Mercedes.

Mercedes and DS are just power houses with no drawbacks at all, and in the case of DS it requires little to no skills to master it.
