I would say you can or else there wouldn't be so many Game Based movies.

Because they stab the game to pieces and pull out a plot (see: Battleship). A single plotline (or multiple ones that later converge into a single one) drive movies, TV shows (speaking generally here), and novels. Sure, a main storyline drives RPGs, but most RPGs, MapleStory included in this category, have hundreds and hundreds of side-quests. If anything, I've seen Southperricans bemoaning the fact that there aren't enough interesting side-quests rather than the opposite.
