Or you could, you know, listen to real theme metal, such as Tyr, Hammerfall, Rhapsody of Fire, or (probably just my personal viewpoint with this one, it's more of an opera theme than a mythos theme in most cases, but I feel it fits) Diablo Swing Orchestra.
Or you could listen to real metal, I guess, but after a while that can give even a person that regularly listens a headache. Check out any of Anaal Nathrakh's songs and you'll see what I mean with that.
