Fairy Tail Thread (Spoilers)

I've only watched random episodes of the anime, I read the manga more instead. But if like you said then you answered your own question. Because they haven't had barely any fillers the anime has basically caught up to the manga, and if these fillers don't last a while then the anime will have nowhere else to go once it is caught up.

The anime has never been really far from the manga. I get why they would put fillers but 1 year long? A long filler would last around 24 episodes which is 6 months. That should be enough.

Also there is the fact the great magic games are developing very fast. They could use this to make each fight/event take 2 or even 3 episodes long, then you'd have fillers that are not actual fillers and are worth watching.
