With the Union/Justice revamp approaching for Vipers and Thieves, I've decided to record a couple of videos, demonstrating the differences between how Vipers currently play in different situations and how they will play after the revamp comes. If you have any suggestions on what kind of places/situations to record at, I will try my best to capture footage of it if it's possible for me to do so. Polantaris will also be joining me in some of the videos, although I'm not sure how well I can capture the differences for Paladins from my side of things.
*Note* The damage you see in this video done with critical hits is inaccurate. There is a disaplay bug that makes every hit after a critical on a multiple hit attack do the same exact damage as a critical. This is not the real damage done to the monster, though the numbers are very well within my character's abilities.
I realize I messed up in a couple of parts of this video. My computers are all at the end of their lives, so they're a bit laggy. I also have Demolition set to a macro for convenience at certain bosses. Unfortunately, it gets in the way sometimes at Papulatus, when he uses invulnerability frames or goes inside his shell. The misses you see in this video are a direct portayal of that problem. Moreover, the leap in the second video not being made was my fault. I released Screw Punch far too early. I'm usually better at timing that, but it seemed to have slipped from my grasp today. I apologize for all mistakes made during this video.
I only recorded one run because the first one was way too laggy to do anything right. The second one was iffy too, as to whether or not I'd upload it, but I decided "why the hell not?" I'm not entirely certain if there's a better way to fight Papulatus now that we can't stand on the one platform for very long and attack, but if I do find a better method than this eventually, I'll upload another video that consists of two runs back to back rather than just one botched run. As you can see, it was very laggy. I shouldn't have used the bigger resolution to record with. Oh, well. That's something to take note of for next time.
*Note* I did not record the battle with Grandpa (大親分 because I was getting some strange potion lag (which you can witness in the video itself) and for the fact that Grandpa is an asshole.
There are only two of us foreigners left in JapanMS at the moment. We're both relatively high-leveled (179 Viper and 162 Paladin), but neither of us can really afford potential stats, so our strength is certainly not as high as it could be. We're both donned in full Empress sets. In my opinion, we do quite well for two of the weakest classes in the game. Please, do not leave any negative remarks toward us.
As I said with the last video, neither of the two of us are all that well funded. We have full Empress sets, but they don't exactly have the greatest potential on them (or even anything good at all), since we don't care to cube our gear at all (or just simply can't afford to spend that much money). We try our best with what we can get with in-game money (Mesos and NX gained through the MTS). I hope you can respect that and not call our damage low simply because we do not have over-cubed items.
An interesting thing is, after we completed this run, we went on another run and defeated Zakum in 4 minutes. I probably should've recorded that one too... I wonder how fast each of us can solo it.
Anywho, you might see me holding down Fists or "Barrage" in this video at times. My computer is at its life's end, so it's extremely laggy. On top of that, I'm using a USB keyboard, which doesn't have the best respond time. That, coupled with the lag, makes the computer pick up my keyboard as a really low priority. So, instead of doing actual skill combinations, I just held down the key for "Barrage." It's probably not the single best solution, but that's the one I took. Don't like it? Deal with it.
Hopefully, we'll get some idea as to when the Thief and Viper revamps will hit JapanMS on the 11th. I'll try getting videos out after that patch as soon as possible.
All of these videos will have my equipment and level the same to get the best quality demonstrations that I can give. I will continue to update this post with more videos as they are recorded, rendered and uploaded. As a bonus, after the revamps come, I will try to get a solo video of Zakum and possibly the Body Guards (though, I'm not certain the Body Guard one will come to pass, given the whole stun issue with Body Guard A).
