The general idea was that you make him choose between either farming creeps, or hitting you. Actually, that should apply to most champs whose abilities aren't cockblocked by minions.
Being the guy that I am, I am sometimes on the left, I am sometimes on the right, and sometimes I hang out in the middle (not for long though in this case).
