Installing Maple Onto Another User
#12
Quote:I wasn't saying that logging on multiple accounts in general is against the ToS, but I was wondering if the fact that it's a third party program would be against the ToS. I remember when Window Mode Programs were considered a third party program and a "tool of hacking." Obviously running more than 1 computer for maple is perfectly legal, but is running VMWare against the ToS?

WARNING UBERNERD MOMENT

This is a great question. And you've damn near stumped me on this one. After thinking about it for a few, I don't see how it would be counted as a third-party program any more than Winamp or MSN would. You have your physical PC running Windows, Maple, and what not, and you have your virtual PC running Windows, Maple, etc. Consider it as running two operating systems on the same PC. Two entirely different kernel and user spaces, and thus two PCs to the outside world.

GameGuard on a virtual PC can't see more than GameGuard on a physical PC would, and when you're behind a router, it's completely transparent to the outside world.

Non UberNerdy Version

If you're behind a router, it won't look any different to the outside world. Use two PCs, use a PC and VMWare. Can anyone on the internet tell the difference? Probably not.

(Anyone with any networking knowledge, please chime in and clearify this.)
