The amount of base mp you gain per level doesn't affect washing. Washing is based on the extra mp you gain per level - the random two points of mp you can get, and the mp from INT. Archers gain 14-16 mp per level. You can wash until you have the amount of mp you'd have if you got 14 every level. Same deal with Pirates, except you get 18-20 per level and you can wash until you have 18.
