Guess I'm not done yet.
...Uh, dude, what else is there? Sure big bang made bosses easier, but the problem you fail to see is, duping completely wiped out any tier. It's become a "must purchase" market. Duping by itself destroyed anything the game has to offer clean. There is no way a legitimate player could even bother to compete with the conditions the game has put on the table.
If you look at the tree, yeah you're right, ez upgrading, no problem. But look at the forest, maplestory is a game that's business model is refreshing players, not keeping them. How the hell are new players going to stay when they can't legitimately make the amount of money required to do the necessary upgrades to even attempt these bosses, let alone be acceptable in our community.

I don't think it's fair to say that duping singlehandedly made bossing not a profitable endeavor for groups of people, or even that that's a considerable factor. That level 200 bit sounds more like a personal problem of motivation and reason for playing than the state of the game's economy. I really like that upgrading bit, though, considering that these duped items are a considerably cheaper form of upgrading than any other medium, when the financial investment seems to be your concern.

That may seem like a good thing at a glance but in reality, it has three major harmful effects on the game. The first being that it removes one of the major points of the game: using the strength you've previously gained to continue improving your character through the (sometimes dreadful but necessary) act of farming. Beyond that, if you can have an unlimited number of that item, the act of scrolling becomes a joke. Seems like a good thing but it is a large part of the game.
So simply duping your equipment removes two vital parts of the gaming experience, whether you enjoy them or not.
The final effect lies in the market. Duping does and has destroyed the economy beyond repair. It's not just limited to those big items. When everything is plentiful then everything is worthless. There may as well be no market.
Just because it's somewhat beneficial to you or other players doesn't mean it's not a blight on the game.
