The new Shen is amazing. Just tried him today and owned an Irelia top easily. Building items like dorans shield, mercs/tabi, HoG, wits end, rylai's scepter (wannabe ashe 
), randuins omen, get creative for the rest. With this you can 1vs1 most due to your incredible tankyness and damage through wits end. Rylai's and your dash makes sure they aren't getting away either. In teamfights you can just taunt in and focus their carry so they burn whatever escape they have. Then you ultimate your carry for a 1000 hp shield and taunt all over again. Wits end solves most of his farming issues, rylai's randuins the 'uselessness' outside of your taunt. A guy that does mostly magic damage is also great in the current meta where you usually have an ad jungler/bot. I wouldn't call him OP yet but he's certainly a lot better then before.
