Tinker around with puppet placement, so you don't have to climb as many ropes. I personally just plopped it down in the top left, so I only had to go up there once every few cycles.

In that way, Explosion is awesome. On the right part of the map I can hit the top platform from the middle one by jump-casting (With 121 jump, booster and evil wings) and from the middle it also reaches up to the bottom if cast on the ground.
