I'm looking to replace my old desktop+monitor combo with a new desktop/laptop. I need it because my current one heats up insanely fast (with only maple running on it and nothing else), and also tends to give random BSOD while playing maple. I need one that has no trouble running maple+browser+videos+skype+etc. at the same time, doesn't heat up at all, and is built to last for a good 5+ and basically not be out-of-date after even a few years pass.

Current computer is desktop/monitor combo VAIO Pentium 4 3.2Ghz, 1GB RAM. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700.
How do you intend to use this new part or new computer? What's the heaviest load it's likely to encounter?
It's likely to primarily be used for mapling, browsing, and video streaming simultaneously pretty much. But I won't this computer to have no problems with doing 10 things at once (quickly), even though it'll most likely being running only a few large programs at the same time rarely. Bottom line: mostly to be used for maple and browsing.
