They closed it off "temporarily" with the intention of finding and fixing the bug real-soon-now, but were never given time to look at it.
Finally, someone there must have gotten as frustrated as the players, and said, "Let's just put it back the way it was, for now. It will be too easy, but then the entire game is too easy. When we get time to fix that bug we can release a 'revamp'."
I'm not too optimistic about them ever being given time to complete the update they had planned, especially in light of this apparent surrender.
But who knows.
I wish I could say I think VPQ might be similarly reopened unchanged, but I think making VIP weapons easily obtainable is still viewed as too "game breaking" (unlike MoNs), even with all the new sets. They won't reopen VPQ until they've scaled the monsters, or at least the boss, up.
I missed a lot while I stopped playing, so I didn't really know what was up with the channel crashing thing. I was under the impression a new hack/exploit thing that was only possible in the CWKPQ map was discovered/released and as a result they had to remove it. I'd love to play a difficult CWKPQ, there's so much they could do with it, along with the rest of Masteria. Maybe one day they'll 'get around to it' and give the entire area the proper attention it deserves. Even releasing it again is a start though, hopefully they'll realise it's far too easy and be propelled into action as a result...
I can dream. :/
By the way, does anyone know which version had the Pirate boss? Did we ever get that?

I never even got a chance to VPQ, I was inactive when it came out and didn't come back until a few months after it had been closed off.
