If I had to guess; people buying a very set-in-place build without adjusting for a specific opponent, team comp etc.
Been messing around more with how I build Ezreal, trying to bring in more damage, and using Manamune as an item to base it around. Even without any other Mana items I get tons more AD than it's gold is worth by the end of mid-game, making the mp/5 and a chunk of the AD completely free. There isn't 6 slots worth of items on the list since I leave everything else to vary per game, but this is the general outline.
- Meki Pendant
- Tear
- Boots 1
- Vampiric Scepter
- Boots 2 (CDR or Merc)
- Bloodthirster (Wriggles if doing very bad)
- Manamune
- Sheen
