Her ult scales off attack damage, but for 1.6k more, you're getting 70ap and 40 ad. 40ad is like 200 damage, the 70ap is 175, so additional 375. The Wota for 900 and let's add a large rod with 80ap. That gives 160ap which gives 400 damage and an additional 5% spell vamp. The aura also gives your team 30 ap and 25% spell vamp.
Personally I see no reason to get the gunblade or go ad on kat. Her shunpo is too good for her to be ad. It's one of the best tower dive, chase, get away skills, especially combined with her passive. So for 2.4k you can either get the 70 ap, 40 ad, 20% spell vamp and active slow, or get 50 ap and 30ap and 25% spell vamp aura for your team and 80ap(which makes up most of the deathcap). As for the gunblade active, with rylias you should have enough slow on people.
I play kat ap. Boots + pots or book + pots -> revolver -> sorc boots -> RCS -> wota/deathcap -> the other
That kind of kat doesnt work, one single interrupt skill means you are basically dead and since your ult and shunpo skill requires for you to be up close you are going to get melted in a matter of seconds, and like someone said before, the meta right now really pushes a lot of AD champions in the game and the only other sure AP its the support that should barely do any kind of damage.
