On that note, is there any caster that DOESN'T get huge gains from Will of Ancients? Annie gets a lot from it because of the amount of damage she does, Karthus because he can hit everything and spam his q, I tried Vlad and he's like always max life with that thing...just seems like a generally overpowered item, especially since it's an aura lol.
I kind of don't like WoTa. My main mid champions are Lux, Katarina and Morgana. I prefer a hextech gunblade on Katarina pretty late game and extra spell vamp over that would be excessive. Morgana already has built in spell vamp and needs to rush tankyness to make actual use of her ultimate in a teamfight situation. Well she doesn't, but she does if she is the one to iniate which I usually am as her. RoA, boots, deathcap and hourglass are more important on her to me and it usually doesn't get to the point where I've to think of a 5th/6th item. Lux has no benefit from spell vamp because the teamfight is usually over before she gets her second skill round and she has the range to not die before shooting her entire burst. Any form of defense on her is usually a bad decision in my opinion. She needs the mana reg/cdr/ap/m penetration way too much to be useful and she can definatly pull it off without dying with her amazing range.
Vladimir is a no brainer on why that is useful, but annie usually dies once she shoots of her burst because her range is pathetic. I can see WoTa being useful on a tanky kind of karthus, but I usually build him glass cannon due to his passive and his global range ultimate. Karthus takes a lot of skill in positioning his passive. Hard situations to consider usually involve either trying to flash away from the teamfight in an attempt to stay alive or flash back in to do great damage with your passive. Not to mention his map awareness needs to be top notch for his ultimate. Then there is your Q which as your elo progresses higher everyone seems to be able to dodge sadly. I never saw Karthus as a great champion to be honest.
