Yeah, given that my VPN service is also being a little pomegranate, I'm inclined to believe that these people are just masquerading. Anyone can put up a link to LOIC or HOIC and put an IP address. Doesn't make them uber-pro h4x0rs last time I checked.
Seems to me that since Anonymous DDoS'd everyone they didn't like, people are seeing DDoS's everywhere.
