You had 3 moves (I saw only 2, the one you pulled i didnt consider Tongue) the first was moving to the right, but that would make you compete with yellow and orange for the top and that was like beating a dead horse (Not much space over there), the second was to the left but down, but it was almost the same option like the one before this, competing with blue for 4 space each or so.

All in all you did the best move you could.
