Sorry, but bossing doesn't occur until you are at least near level 100 so you need to become familiar with a class and find a playing style that suits you best. I chose cleric because I love helping others and hate doing high damage. I prefer to be intertwined in the background whilst someone else does the work
. However, if you are looking to do medium ranged attacks then look into the upcoming Gunslinger class as well as the mage classes. Gunslinger is fast-paced quick-fire attacks with low damage. The mage classes have decent ranges, level quickly on their own, and do mediocre damage. If you want to see how each class plays then why not try a PServer so you don't waste pointless hours training on a character that you don't like.
