Southperry Gaming Awards Revealed!

The XBOX 360 only managed to get a few nominations this year which was really surprising to me since I've always felt it had the strongest fanbase here at Southperry. Nonetheless, two games stood prominently above all others and one of them is insanely obviously while the other is not at all what I expected.

Gears of War 3

I haven't heard anything about Gears of War 3 since a few days before it was released, which I'm suspecting is probably a bad sign. Actually, that's not true, there are still some grumblings about women finally being included in the franchise. Nonetheless, the fate of the world once again laid on the ridiculously broad shoulders of Marcus Idontknowhislastname and I have to imagine he won. At least until Gears of War 4.

As you can probably tell I don't know anything about Gears of War except little snippets of things I've read online. Hell, I'm still not even sure if it's a first or third person shooter. All I know is that it features a really large man and some equally large bugs. Luckily, I don't need to know anything about it to present an award and write a half-hearted piece about it.

Forza Motorsport 4

See!? Who honestly expected this? No one. You know why? Because racing games are not THAT good. They're fun to kill some time with but they have no depth or intrigue and once you've spent 3 seconds holding the gas you pretty much have experienced all that a racing game has to offer. I can't imagine what might make this game different or what possessed people to nominate it. I would actually like answers so if you're reading this and have some, respond to me in the thread.
