Pretty sure the orbs/puppets/grimoires are the primary weapons for Sorcs. You'll be swimming in average onyx pretty soon anyways. Chances are high that you'll be able to get all of your 40 gear to at least +9 or above.
On a side note, if they ever do a Priest update in kDN, the only thing I want is for them to extend buff duration to something like 90-120 seconds. It is annoying having to find an opening during a major boss fight to recast the buffs every minute, especially with the other party members having to run everywhere else because the boss suddenly decides it wants to target me when the buffs are almost out.
