I personally think you can think learn a lot in Networking classes because the professor can usually cover on a lot of topics that it'd be harder to self-study on. I think I'd be really discouraged from studying about subnetting if I were to try it by myself when I was a bit younger. It's really fun, and I honestly miss doing all of that. Speaking of which, a colleague of mine is studying in preparation for his CCNP right now. But the guy's been tech-savvy since he was a child, so he has that innate talent.
I assumed you were studying Forensics only because I noticed the "Introduction to Security" course, but I forgot that I took a Security class or two when I was in my 1st two years of college too. But yeah, I heard Forensics isn't bad if you're going all out on that, or at least have a degree in Computer Forensics with a primary in IT or something.
