You guys probably need to consider if they have a merc friend that's up there too and available at the time.
Just because this one run didn't have the class you want doesn't mean they're never there. It's like how the first HT/PB runs had a mediocre class in there just because of connections (and probably great gear to make up for a loss of optimized damage).
At least, that's what I hope is the case. Regardless, 4/5 (6/10 of all classes in a single party of 8) of the main classes in the party is pretty good still. Tells you that the game isn't THAT one sided.
