And I don't know how the recent changes to Academic affected them, but they were considered #1 DPS at least.
Sharpshooters: Ranged DPS... And that's about it. It seems everything they can do, Eles can do way better, although Eles are more likely to get hit. Eles also have way better support for the whole squad, while SS has like nothing beyond Ankle Shot (which Priests can already cover).
I don't know what the hell Academics can really contribute during a major boss fight, but they seem like offensive Priests or something. With a 1st job ultimate that can spit out food.
It also doesn't help that it sounds like crit seems to benefit other classes far more than it benefits archers. I don't see people talking about the benefits of archers with stacked crit nearly as much as the benefits of every other class with stacked crit.
I don't care that other classes can crit, but archers definitely need something tweaked about theirs. I think I'm just peeved on the whole how Eles can just get 10k crit + their buff to get 16k crit. What is the point of Walking Target.

Especially since for DN, it's all about the monster hunting and none of that "oh you need this skill to get to this area" kind of stuff. I personally think it'd be really stupid to have this one section in, for example Sea Dragon, where you need an acrobat to wind-walk up to a certain point and hit a switch. It makes you feel about as important as that seduce mule.
I thought having an area where only you/someone from the same class could go to do something for your team was a neat idea. Not necessarily something as simple or retarded as "hit the switch" or "figure out this really easy puzzle", but DN does have that 3D aspect of it. :V
Or I'm just weird for thinking it'd be nice to have a varied party to utilize everyone's different skills instead of half the party is made of Clerics so we can survive.
And I'm talking about a party doing a nest for their level, not overgeared lvl50s doing nerfed SDN.
