I fail to see how they "talked circles around him". Sure, that lawyer was unprofessional and will probably be out of a job but they also gave Nexon everything they need to find them in order to what.. act cocky and taunt Nexon with "you won't find us, nyah nyah nyah!"? They even admitted to participating in two crimes on recording (and I don't mean the ToS crap)... They've given Nexon even more of an open-and-shut case. The only thing they've gained is a little bit of infamy because I'd never heard of that site before.
Anyway, phone records (be they IP-based or PBX-based) aren't exactly hard or expensive to find . It's also really easy to look up a website's owner. Their "victory" is in 1 battle over 1 insignificant lawyer but they've pretty much ensured that they'll lose the war in a much more significant way.
