People who know more about cryptography and security than you can condescend have been hit by this. No amount of explaining what a secure password looks like is going to change the fact that people with secure passwords are still getting their accounts violated, daily.
This sort of crap doesn't help. No one is going to thank you for handing them the secret magic key they've been missing all along here.
Do you know what rainbow tables are? Or are you just another one of those people that can throw out terms without really understanding how they are being used?
Its true rainbow table can speed up the hash calculation, but even if it speed up by 1 million time, it will still take more than anyone's life time to complete all the patterns. The amount of memory need for a full rainbow table for that combination are huge.
Right, there are lots of security experts and cryptographers hanging around on MS and you know every one of them.
Sounded like you are one of those people that believe in hacker magic, they can break into any account using "magic".
"Crap" is those that gives out little bit of info without any logical explanation.
I am not looking for anyone to thank me, is that your motive to post? Tell everyone NOT to change their password is way more secure. HA!
BTW I had posted my IGN and login ID for my MS account, challenging the hackers to break into my account 3 months ago, I still having gotten hacked!
