I think Skyrim handles armor Enchanting a lot better than Oblivion did, at least. In Oblivion, the only armor enchantments that were actually useful were either Fortify Magicka or Resist Magic/Spell Absorption. Okay, there was Fortify Health too, but you really had to try to die in Oblivion unless you played at the highest difficulty, so...
At least now we can put damage-related enchantments on some of our armor. Although this probably makes Enchanting in Skyrim even more broken than it was in Oblivion overall.
