Yeah, sh`it's painful. On my main right now, I'm wearing full Daedric, but I'm going to remake another set to get better stats later on, then enchant all 4 armor pieces with Resist magic. Then, no more fear of running into annoying mages.

I'm pretty sure resist magic can only be put on necklaces, rings, and a shield if you use one.
So if you need more defense against magic/dragon breath attacks I reccomend the Atronach stone.
It grants you a 50% chance to adsorb incoming spells and making their damage 0, 50% slower magic regen, and +50 magika.

And to your earlier post, here is my current character with sneak/assassin gear.
I use a full set of Daedric when I want to be a OP'ed tank.
