Afghan arrested for being raped has to marry her rapist to avoid 12 years in jail.

One salient point it seems people have been missing is that the (later) article states her crime was not being raped, but reporting it late. It doesn't say how late but I would assume it was when she discovered she was pregnant. This makes her suspect of willingly engaging in extra-marital sex, which is apparently a crime in Afghanistan.
