I've removed protagonist/antagonist because this was mostly a year of remakes and sequels. While they do feature some new characters, I just couldn't think of enough examples to justify these categories
Best update may seem a little out there but there were quite a few good expansions this year in games like Starcraft, WoW, Maple, DFO, etc.
I don't think enough people care about mobile games for them to deserve a category. Best remake would go to Zelda regardless of what else came out so...
