In my opinion, tabs are too fat to fit in my pocket, phones have too small screens. Yet iPad can still sell well.
It's not an opinion, it's an educated guess based on history mixed with good understanding of business strategies. I could see this thing selling pretty well if it was introduced around $99. Perhaps even $149, but that's pushing it. And to be honest, people that are even interested in tablets are generally going to shop around for the best deals that fit their specific needs, because they are an investment. If it's above $199, people will go buy a Kindle Fire.
There is also the fact that Samsung may not give a pomegranate, while it may be a failure in the eyes of consumers, it could be a gain in their eyes from the money they spent on development compared to how many units sold and the net profit gained.
