Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword [SPOILERS]

IGN's scores have always been harsh on games. I'd usually consider giving a a game a try with a review of like 7 from them. On top of that, I can't find any reviews that give MW3 a better score than Skyward Sword, except Gamespot's.

On that note, I've finally beaten it. Was it amazing? Abso-pineappleing-lutely Did I enjoy it more than Ocarina of Time? To be honest, I'm not sure. I've posted some spoiler free impressions below, but it's in a spoiler because I know how you guys are sometimes.

While there were many things I loved about this game, I felt like there was a little more room for some depth on some aspects. I didn't really enjoy too many of the side quests. They were too simple and easy. I also really disliked the flying. It made eveything feel... disconnected. I just remember really enjoying how Hyrule was set up in Ocarina of Time. I will say a lot of of the boss fights were fun, but the game felt way too easy overall. The final boss fight was more annoying than fun in my eyes, but it was the final boss, so that's probably how it should have been. I never was really stumped in the game, ever. Then again, that could pertain to the age difference. Playing Ocarina of Time at like 13 and playing Skyward Sword at 19. Heart Containers were a cinch to find, by the end of the game I was only missing 2 hearts total, and like 6 pieces. Motion Plus is not only it's best feature, it's its greatest frustration. It's so annoying to get screwed over because you know you're doing the correct motion, but it's off in registering. There was a handy feature to realign your cursor on screen for many of the items, which you will be doing a lot. I will commend them on how nice the game looked... in 480p. I could only imagine a Zelda in actual high definition. The emotion they managed to put into the characters faces was subtle and awesome. It made you care and feel for the characters, which is what good games do. Overall, I wouldn't give it a perfect score but a next to perfect score. Nintendo did one over on themselves, all Zelda games are just stacked up against Ocarina of Time and nothing can really beat it. This sure comes close though.

The fact that Demise gets set free in the past and when you go into the future, nothing has changed. While he says he'll wait for you to fight him, waiting all that time... doesn't make sense to me. Again, one of the best things was getting to see the current Hyrule and the future Hyrule in Ocarina in Time.
