Its still something they could have sold up unlimited stock or not. But its obvious they dont care about any "Potential Lost" from gifting these cubes, otherwise they would not have done so.

Or there's a hidden "potential gain" from giving a single cube out. Someone cubes an item with good stats -> turns crap -> buys cubes to make up for the lost damage.
