Depends. If you're going there for tourism, it's idiotic to ask people questions in a language they can barely speak. They just go there to go to places and spend money, what else do you need to know? If it is for another thing, like the Summer Work and Travel I'm doing, well yeah, you should be able to speak a thing or two.

Totally understand if it's for tourism. I assumed it wasn't a tourism visa though, because Solar said it was a 10 year visa.
