Well, the extra guard chance of shield mastery helps but 10% is really low. Blessing armor's extra 30 seconds is probably the dumbest increase there is.
Demon Slayers don't have a Power Guard skill. All Dark Revenge does is deal damage to things that hit the Demon Slayer. The only damage reducing skills they have are Dark Endure (+100% DEF, +80% Resist), Force Guard (+30% Guard), and Achilles (+20% Reduction).
Wearing a shield has nothing to do with why Paladins are weak. Shields are better since they provide an extra source of potential, unlike a 2H weapon, which is also slower. Demon Slayers are inherently stronger because their Force Shields can get Weapon potential lines.
