saph->Tear -> shoes 1-> defense based on enemy -> mercs -> moar defense +mana -> troll with moar defense and maybe a warmogs lol
As for Aynia's void staff comment...
Void staff... Yeah I guess I SHOULD be pulling that out if they stack MR... but in this case... not one person stacked MR 0.o (besides the unimportant cho)
Anyone got any clue at around what MR a void staff would actually be useful on Ryze? I'm thinking about 120 MR 0.o
Depends vastly on your personal level of magic penetration but generally rule of thumb says anywhere near 2 negatrons worth of MR is when you should have one.
Also build like this.
Saph + 2 potions -> Early Cata and Tear -> Boots 1 -> RoA if you're going exceptionally well -> Glacial/BV if you're doing average and depending on need.
Then build normally.
Early cata is a common tactic on mages for superior sustain in lane, Ryze happens to get FREE pineappleING DAMAGE from it too. Abuse it.
