One of the founders of this glitch used it in a tourney for the lulz and apparently he was threatened to be banned on the spot.

He wasn't threatened to be banned. Yipes, who organized the tournament, said he might have to ban the glitch on the spot, which he did, since it as soon as you activate it, which is incredibly easy to do, you've essentially killed the opponent's point character since it lets you combo infinitely, or just put the opponent into an infinite block string.
