yeah, my friend also has 32bit, and it works fine. she doesn't even have to do any of the above. i guess it's just this new 64bit thing. any idea how to downgrade to 32bit xp? when i put the xp cd and boot the setup, it doesnt detect the harddrive to install XP on.
well actually going back to 32bit would mean i can't use my 6 gigs ram..
guess i'm going to have to hope that the alt tab trick works next run.
